This week I received my complimentary copy of
Living the Artist's Life by Paul Dorrell in the mail, and have already started reading it. The publisher sent out a predetermined number of them to artists who have blogs. Usually, partially-read books stack up all around my house, until I start feeling guilty and stressed about not finishing them. I notice I approach books the way that I do paintings -- keep several going at a time. But this one is engaging enough that I'd love to just spend the afternoon with it. Do I dare give myself the afternoon off? Come to think of it, it's written to help artists with their careers. So I'll call it working! Yeah!

Thanx for the info, Martha. I emailed for it, thinking I was most likely too late, and got a nice confirmation yesterday that it would be on its way to me. : )
Cheers, Margot
Great!! I'm enjoying it. Still not finished, sad to say. A lot of it is directed to "young" artists, specifically ones just out of art school. I was tempted to skip those parts, but didn't.
